EZ30D (Early Phase 1, 2000–2004): Aluminum intake manifold, single exhaust port per head, traditional cable/drive-by-wire throttle (Fits Outback H6 3.0, Legacy Lancaster).
EZ30-R / EZ30D (Late Phase 2, 2004–2009): Black plastic intake manifold, 3 exhaust ports per head, AVCS & AVLS (Variable Valve Timing/Lift), Electronic Drive-by-Wire throttle (Fits Outback 3.0R, Legacy 3.0R, Tribeca B9 3.0L).
